Upcoming UK Poker Events This March
This March looks to be a hectic one for live poker tournaments in the UK and Ireland with over a dozen medium to large events scheduled up and down the country.
The popular Grosvenor Poker Series will be continuing during March 2016 with another four big stops, with tournaments in Glasgow, Reading, Southampton, and Sheffield. These events will host games with Grosvenor’s usual £200+£20 buy-in for £25,000 guaranteed tournaments. The Grosvenor Tour has been running successfully for a number of years and is typically a huge success with players wherever it takes place.
Even without the popular Poker Series, Grosvenor casinos in the UK would be incredibly busy throughout March this year. Their Manchester Bury New Road Casino is due to play host to the next stage of the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT) while the Grosvenor Casino Victoria in London, plans to open its doors to the new Unibet Open London event, and the March 2016 Super Stack poker event.
The popular Aspers Casino Westfield will be hosting two large poker events in March. Firstly, the 888Live Local Series from the 3rd to the 6th, and then the high profile APAT World Championship of Amateur Poker event from the 19th through to the 28th March. It is an excellent venue with a great reputation for live poker festivals in the UK.
The Genting Casino chain in the UK will be playing host to its fair share of live poker this month too, with the eagerly awaited Deepstack Tournament in Luton from the 10th to the 12th March, and this is followed by a Genting Poker Series (GPS) Main Event in Southend from the 16th to the 20th. It will also be hosting a Mini Poker Series in Glasgow from the 30th March to the 3rd of April.
Undoubtedly the biggest and most lucrative live poker event on the cards this March has to be the 2016 Irish Open. This long-running series will see hundreds of skilled poker players this year travelling to the Emerald Isle to take place in the exciting tournament. The week long event will be happening at the Citywest hotel in Dublin and is effectively a revamped version of Europe’s longest-running poker festival, as it’s under new ownership this year.
Also in March, the WPT530 will be taking place at the Dusk Till Dawn in Nottingham this year. This big event will be going on there from the 3rd to the 6th of March, with buy-in typically costing $520. Competing players in the event will receive 50,000 chips when they join and can play for a guaranteed prize pool of up to $250,000 with the winner able to claim a $1,100 WPT National seat.
